“I’ve known George Beirne for over 24 years ..
Because of the work ethic I saw George embrace, the quality of work and perseverance; I hired him to do some work for me and gave him a key to my condo ... I’ve never been disappointed in the finished product or job . He has built custom solid walnut kitchen cabinets, made two beds for me …. several mirrors and a new  fireplace mantel....all I can say is I will wait for him , to do my work , because I never have to worry about the finished product . It’s well worth the wait to have George on the job!
I’ve recommended George to several of my friends.... they ALL feel the same about his character and person.”

“We have had the pleasure of knowing George Beirne for many, many years.  Aside from his renown in the great outdoor sporting world, what has impressed us the most are his unique talents in design and construction, as well as remodeling, woodworking and custom furniture fabrication.

Our home is a uniquely shaped house full of a variety of wood surfaces.  George has complemented our living space with unique solutions regarding custom made furniture to precisely fit into challenging angled corners and off-camber walls.  He really listens to what the customer needs and wants and comes up with wonderful solutions.

George has created very unique masterpieces of furniture of superior quality of materials and finishes.  Such craftsmanship is increasing difficult to come by.  He employs Japanese carpentry that is simple and elegant and each piece works seamlessly with the room for which it is designed.  His wall hangings are remarkable: they add a depth and perspective that perfectly blend with our home.

George has an artistry and appreciation for materials and shapes that is truly remarkable.  We greatly appreciate what he has created for us.  We have the highest regard for and strongly recommend George Beirne Design for your remodeling, woodworking and custom furniture needs.”

“We feel very fortunate that George was available to finish our basement apartment (electrical, venting, painting, molding, tile work, countertops, drywall, mud and tape, everything) as well as painting the exterior of our house.  If the homeowner knows exactly what they want done, and how they want it done, we do not recommend they work with George.  George is open and receptive to ideas, however, he has a standard and will not relax that standard....for anyone.  If you want someone that you can trust to do exceptional quality work with an attention to detail, George is your person.   Let him know your vision, and he will run with it, come up with ideas you had never thought of, get it done, and it will look better than you would have ever been able to imagine.  He is a craftsman and an artist.  He is just crazy talented and we are still in shaking our heads that we got so lucky.  “

“George Beirne has been a staple in our lives for almost 30 years; as a teen and an adult. Even though we never saw his work in Alaska, he has been a huge success helping rebuild our rental home in Rocklin. His expertise in all phases is shown in the woodwork, siding, roofing, electrical, plumbing, tilework, sheetrock, and insulating.  Top to bottom successful work. Pride in all he does. Teaches as well as performs. A wonderful family man too. Our building and personal experiences with George are a source of pride.”

“We are long-time customers of George Beirne and are writing to offer our enthusiastic recommendation for his remodeling, woodworking  and  custom furniture services. George is reliable, hard-working, and immensely creative and talented, and we have enjoyed his work in both our home and business for nearly  two decades.

Our Home. When we built our small custom home on the Anchorage Hillside, we discovered a number of unanticipated challenges. First, our kitchen opened into a two-story space that dwarfed standard cabinets, so George designed and installed custom cabinets that are simple and sleek, and have held up well for over fifteen years. Second, we built both a loft and a deck with little advance thought about what railings to install, so George designed clever and well-crafted solutions with which we have been very pleased. Third, several favorite spaces in our new home were uniquely sized and shaped, and it was impossible to find standard furnishings to fit. So George once again designed and built custom dressers, desks, bookcases, benches and bar stools in a consistent modern style that we have thoroughly enjoyed. The products of George's efforts are truly highlights of our home.

Our Business. We owned the Great Harvest Bread Co. bakery in Anchorage for 23 years, and George performed a number of woodworking and remodeling services during this time. When we expanded into an adjacent space in 2011, George handled the complete remodel, knocking down old walls and building new ones, building counter cabinets and tables, installing wall coverings and fixtures, and generally performing the monumental list of tasks required to bring anew retail space to life. Remarkably, he did the main transition work in one-week's time, under great pressure. George was focused, detail-oriented, and self-guided, working independently with little oversight to produce consistentlyexcellent results.

Neither our home nor our business would be as warm, inviting and comfortable had George not been involved in their design and construction. But even more important to us has been George's positive and fun energy, which is always a treat to be  around. We could not recommend him more highly.”
